Contact
Management Continued . . .
If
you have a replicated site and it has a decent contact management
system, that's great. Usually, what I have found is the
contact management systems that are offered are not as flexible or have
as much functionality.
Whatever
you use, the most important part is to USE it.
When
you're talking to a prospect and asking them the probing questions, jot
down what they've said. If you're talking to a customer and
they tell you something and you think, well we don't have a product for
that, and discard it - DON'T. If you're in TriVita, I will
tell you they have added some great products and will continue to add
great products. Unless you're a 1 juice company, and even
then, they may add something to their line. Every piece of
information you gather from a conversation is important.
I
know a heavy hitter who neglected to write down some key information
from an initial conversation with another heavy hitter. In
the follow up conversation, he asked a question (that he had already
asked) and the prospect was insulted and did not join him in his
organization.
You
make a customer or prospect feel valued when you are able to reference
the information they have shared with you. And it's great for
follow up. I had one prospect who asked me to contact him in
a few months. At the time I was talking to him he was trying
to put together his daughter's bicycle. When I called him a
few months later (because I had it noted in my contact management
system), he couldn't remember me. I said, oh you remember -
when I called you were frustrated because you couldn't put together
your daughter's bicycle. He laughed and it instantly
established a rapport between us.
If you're not
technical
and you just want to have a notebook with tabs or index cards, that's
fine. Use whatever works for you.
However, if you
want my
recommendation, I recommend CLP.
It is so much better than ACT and has great
functionality;
flexibility and I have found mulitple ways of handling my contacts from
categories to setting up campaigns when someone joins to keeping track
of emails and information.
And this is one
of the
programs that I do not make commissions on but considering how many
people I have recommended (and who have been very happy with it), I
probably should ask they make an exception in my case. :)
I will warn you
that you
do need some level of technical skills but they have great support and
will demonstrate how it would work best for you. I get leads
from many different sources and I love the ease of being able to upload
my excel sheets with all the information correctly populating into the
fields.
It has a great
follow up
system and notes which is important in any contact management system
and you can send out email blasts (but of course - make sure they have
opted in to receive emails).
I believe I was
the first
network marketer to join them. It is usually used by
salespeople but I have found it to be the best contact management
system I have used and I have tried many different systems.
